Eye allergies are a reaction to indoor and outdoor allergens that get into the eyes. Dr. Anahita Kate, LVPEI helps the audience understand how eye allergies can be prevented and managed.
In view of the World Glaucoma week (12th – 18th March), this month’s webinar saw Dr Ramanjit Sihota (Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi) and Dr Sidharth Dikshit (LVPEI) interacting with the public about Glaucoma with a focus on causes, precautions, and treatments. This webinar was conducted in Hindi to increase the reach of the message to patients that are more comfortable with vernacular languages.

On the occasion of Global Myopia Awareness Week (May 22-26 2023) themed “Keep an eye on Myopia”, Dr Pavan Verkicharla, who heads the Myopia Centre at LVPEI talks all things Myopia to help the audience understand the essentials of this condition and busts common myths about this growing health issue.
Prevention of Blindness in Babies Born Premature | Retinopathy of Prematurity | Newborns

On 17th November, in observance of World Prematurity Day, Dr. Subhadra Jalali from LVPEI and Dr. Tejo Pratap Oleti from Fernandez Hospitals engaged with the audience to shed light on Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), a vision-threatening condition that can affect infants born four or more weeks preterm and have received intensive neonatal care. This event aims to raise awareness about this critical issue and educate the community on how to address and prevent ROP in premature infants. "30 Din Roshni Ke".

Navigating diagnosis and care for rare eye diseases is complicated and complex. It can take many years, and the burden of care on the family is immense. Families also deal with many socio-economic challenges apart from the lack of effective treatment options.
